The term trusted root applies to a particular certificate authority that has allowed the access of its public encryption keys. Through this, it seeks to tell you that the keys may be obtained as a special file downloadable into an SSL-enabled application. That SSL-enabled application will operate a test to establish the integrity of the data pertaining to the certificate authority concerned. The relevant certificate authorities must provide the necessary information in order for an SSL-enabled application to do the test. The copy of a certificate authority’s certificate on the other hand takes the name of trusted root certificate.
