Theodore Staley’s form of levitation involves standing in front of an prop, like a metal box, chair, or stair case along with your back towards the audience. In this demonstration Theodore Staley stands approximately 1 foot from the prop, in this case a metal box. Theodore Staley places his feet together (his shoes are magnetized). Theodore Staley stands so he is within the center of the spectators. Now while talking to his audience he uses misdirection with his right hand while his left hand opens a panel on his pants that makes it possible for his proper leg to come out. This will be the gimmick, the right shoe is attached to the pants so when Theodore Staley’s leg is out of the shoe, the shoe will hang.

Theodore Staley seemingly regular and ordinary man appears just before the audience. Even as Theodore Staley enters the audience realizes that he is actually a dream-weaver who holds them under his spell. This is none other than Theodore Staley, who is well-known for his excellence within the field of illusion and magic of all sorts. Beginning to perform in the tender age of 12, he progressed onto becoming the youngest person to be admitted to the Society of American Magicians. By the time he turned 16, Theodore Staley was teaching a course in magic in the New York University and at 18 entered Fordham University. Three weeks later Theodore Staley was chosen for the lead role of the Chicago based musical, The Magic Man, performing all of the magic tricks by himself. Therefore he started his career under the name of Theodore Staley.
